Gardenia Flower

Gardenia is a genus of flowering plants in the coffee family, Rubiaceae, native to the tropical and subtropical regions of Africa, Asia, Madagascar and Pacific Islands, and Australia.

The genus was named by Carl Linnaeus and John Ellis after Dr. Alexander Garden, a Scottish-born American naturalist.

Repotting

It is important to repot the plant every 2 to 3 years. The new pot should be a few centimeters larger than the growing pot and add some extra soil if necessary. Always pot in the spring, as the plant can still recover from any damage.
